Guided by design thinking principles, I delved into the entire UX design process to solve the following problem: How could I develop a wave forecasting app that would significantly enhance surfers' experiences?

Building a company and brand
Surfinlock is a company specialising in innovative locking devices for surfboards. Building your own company and brand has an unparalleled dimension. As a solo entrepreneur, it's a one-person show, where you wear multiple hats, from engineering and product design to web development, and so much more. Throughout this multifaceted journey, the user experience always takes center stage.
As the owner and CEO, I've gained a profound understanding of all aspects that are part of a company and a deep appreciation for the true meaning of value creation.
Kickstarter campaign
Crowdfunding design & strategy
To kickstart my startup journey, I launched a crowdfunding campaign. Crowdfunding isn't a passive process; it's a full-time project that demands visually compelling storytelling to engage and connect with potential backers. The key was captivating my audience, and making them understand the function and benefit of Surfinlock.
I centered the campaign around a core video, serving as the heart of the Surfinlock story and project explanation. Complementing this narrative, I used graphics and animations to reinforce my message on the Kickstarter page. The outcome was remarkable – the campaign resonated globally, leading to Surfinlock sales from Norway to Australia, and I exceeded the funding goal by over 250%.
Wakeboard cableway
Engineering design
From my extensive tenure as an engineer at the leading wakeboard cableway company, I want to showcase a landmark project - the technical development of the Master Series, which redefines 2-pylon cableways. My approach involved in-depth analysis of existing solutions and close collaboration with all stakeholders, including owners, wakeboarders, operators, and cableway installers. I also collaborated closely with software engineers to develop an intuitive control unit. My objective was to simplify complexity and enhance both usability and functionality. Although, up to that point, I had no formal training in user-centered design, I instinctively embraced the essential principles. The cableway achieves tremendous success and marks a significant step forward in the industry.
